The 1st Halloween!!!

To start off the festivities, we took Lexi to a pumpkin patch in Farmington.  It was a cute farm that had a patch, a corn maze and a mini corn maze made out of hay bales for little kids.  We each picked our own pumpkins and Tony and Lexi got pictures with the locals.

I decided to dress Lexi up as a ladybug!!
She has a book called "My little Ladybug"
that she loves and eats up.  Literally.  The first lines are: "My little ladybug is very small.  But the world doesn't scare her at all."  and that is totally Lexi.  She is all ready so independent and very curious.  Doesn't she look so cute!! and look at those wings!!  It took me 3                                                                days to make the wings and a day to make the dress.

Lexi loved helping her dad carve the pumpkins.  She also tried to eat the insides.

I had to show off my ladybug.  So we went to uncle tim's to show cousin Lochlynn.  He loves construction and  says he wants to be a construction man forever.  Then we trick-o-treated to Mario's. Lexi's second cousin Marc was an adorable puppy dog.
I think we all know who won the costume contest for the CUTEST baby
ALEXIA!!!!

Me Again!

Hi,  Finally!!  I know, right. I should have known I would be bad at this.  This type of thing has always been a problem for me. I have never been able to keep up in a journal or stay in touch with people or updating myspace or emailing people back or even calling people back.  Yeah, do you remember in elementary everyone would get a pen pal, it was so exciting. I think I wrote to mine only once and it was that first letter telling about myself.  Thats when it all started i guess.  So to update ya'll,  I will have to tell ya about the whole summer!!!  So this will probably be a 2 part series.  Doesn't that sound intriguing.  Hopefully they will be only days apart and not months. Okay Part ONE.
We started the summer off with a BANG!!  The Heatons are moving on up!!  I love our 2 bed/2 bath apartment that came with the works.  Its totally amazing compared to the first apartment we lived in.  Remember... I think you could fit that whole apartment in our living room and kitchen.  Totally serious.  Our new complex comes with a pool, a spa- which i have never been able to use because I'm a mom now and I had to watch the kids in the pool!,  and it comes with a gym for me to use to get rid of the baby weight- which i haven't used either.
The pool was Lexi's FAVORITE place this summer.  She turned into a mermaid.  It was so adorable to see her chubby legs kicking around in the water.  As she got more comfortable in the water, the splashes got bigger and then she started to drink the water.  Thats when we knew it was time to get out of the pool.
When we first moved in Lexi couldn't roll over.  Tony and I didn't even see the first few times she rolled over.  We would put her on the floor in the living room for some tummy time and go into the kitchen for a sec and when we returned, she would be on her back.  She is very sly .  After that she rolled everywhere; she never stayed in one spot.  And that was a little scary for me because I needed to watch where she was rolling to make sure nothing would fall on her, ya know.  Okay... That was not scary compared to what she can do now!!!  She is CRAWLING!!!  I was so excited for her to crawl.  It makes me so proud that she could do it.  I love to brag about her.  She is into everything everywhere.  She is so fast and knows where everything is that she is not suppose to find. She is tricky, she will play in a spot where I can see her, then when I'm comfortable enough to look away, she is gone. Oh man, she loves to be chased!!  It is her favorite game.

Pretty soon she will be walking. AHHHHH!!!  I can't think about that.
Tony worked all summer at Batteries Plus.  And almost every Saturday, Lexi and I would have lunch with him at work.  Tony works a block away from the "rez", The Navajo Hogan!!!!  Oh the frybread, SO yummy!!!  and they have the best stew, next to my mommy's,of course.  oh we had Good times there.
Parades and fireworks Lexi didn't care too much for.  Personally I didn't like the parades because there was no candy, what kind of parade is that.
In August we took Lexi to one of the greatest and oldest traditions...The Castle Valley Pageant.  It was chilly and wet!!  We stayed through the rain and the wind and left when it stopped.  It was great.
So tune in next time for the Heaton Ranch and our camping adventures, hopefully it will be soon.
